Maine Trails Coalition names AMC Maine a Love Maine Trails Month Winner

Maine Trails Coalition: “We’re excited to spotlight one of our amazing winners from Love Maine Trails Month! The Appalachian Mountain Club – Maine Chapter hosted several incredible trail stewardship events for National Trails Day this June. Partnering with Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust, Midcoast Conservancy, and their own AMC’s Gorman Chairback Lodge near Greenville, they made a significant impact.

The dedicated crew at Gorman Chairback worked tirelessly to remove blowdowns, prune brush, clear drainages, and perform other essential trail maintenance on over 10 miles of trails in the Appalachian Club’s Maine Woods.

Participants came from all over Maine and beyond, including Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Highlights include a new trail worker scholarship recipient and another who joined through a new trail work leader fellowship.
