Join us February 10 to learn more about the Climate Action Plan, next steps for implementation, and how you can get involved. Our presenter will be Cassaundra Rose, PhD Senior Science Analyst & Climate Council.

Coordinator with the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future.
Climate change is already affecting Maine, from the Gulf of Maine warming faster than 99% of the world’s oceans, to our iconic moose threatened by ticks that no longer are killed by cold winters. Last summer all of Maine experienced drought conditions and the Maine Forest Service put out a record 910 forest fires. We must act now.

In 2019 Governor Janet Mills named a 39-member Maine Climate Council. After more than a year of meetings, the council released Maine Won’t Wait, an ambitious four-year Climate Action Plan to put Maine on track to reduce carbon pollution by 45% by the year 2030, and 80% by 2050. The Climate Action Plan proposes bold action across several strategies, from transportation to efficient buildings to clean energy and resilient infrastructure.
