Through Woods and Waters

Laurie Apgar Chandler of Waldoboro, Maine is the author of two adventure memoirs. Her first book, Upwards (Maine Authors Publishing, 2017), tells her inspirational story of solo thru-paddling the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail. Join us on October 10 for a presentation and slideshow of Laurie’s explorations of the Katahdin Woods & Waters National Monument, the subject of her second book, Through Woods & Waters (Maine Authors Publishing, 2020). Backpacking the start of the International Appalachian Trail, then canoeing age-old waterways, Laurie travels the Penobscot watershed on a journey of discovery, highlighting the region’s geology, history, and natural wonders.
