For the third year in a row, the Maine Chapter will be involved in the nine-day SnoFest celebration in the greater Greenville area. Chapter members will be volunteering during the sled-dog race on Saturday, February 10. The race takes mushers from Greenville to Brownville and back; a distance of nearly 100 miles! The winner will receive a knife hand crafted by our very own Bryan Courtois.

Bryan will also be leading a cross-country ski trip into AMC’s Little Lyford Pond Camps on Saturday, February 10th (leaving right after the start of the sled dog race!). Participants will ski into the camps and enjoy lunch in the warmth of the wood-fired lodge. A tour of the grounds will also be available. It’s a great chance to see one of AMC’s newest facilities in the middle of the beautiful 100 Mile Wilderness. Contact Bryan Courtois (282-3977 or [email protected]) and see the outings section for more information.

Other events during the week sponsored by Greenville area organizations include a Family Fun Day, a Chili and Chowder Cook-off, snowmobile parade and bonfire, an ice skating party, and snowmobile competitions. There is also a Chocolate Festival where customers can sample treats. For more information, go to:
