Want to be in on the late breaking news? Want to hear about bootleg trips? Want to know whaz hapnin’?

You’ll be among those in the know….if you sign up for an AMC email broadcast alert!

We’ve been using informal telephone and email lists of bikers and skiers and paddlers to keep folks informed about changed or updated plans. Now we’d like to move up a step and try an email broadcast alert sort-of-system.

This is how it’ll work: you send us your email address, and we will email you the hot-off-the-keys updates about plans: whether the weather will be fair or foul, whether the trip is on, where the car pool will meet, start time and place, suggestions for gear, lunch plans, possible supper option. Everything you wanted to know that we have been conveying to you by phone we can now get to you quicker, more completely by email. And if you haven’t been on the informal broadcast, now’s the time to give it a try.

We’ll begin with reminders and updates about events already in Wilderness Matters. Then we’ll include trips added between issues.

To start, we’ll have 2 separate lists: one for paddlers, another for bikers.

For the paddler alerts, send your email address to the paddling committee scribe pro tem: David Lanman at [email protected]. And if you’ve been thinking about joining in with the merry band of paddlers, but weren’t sure what a particular river is really like, or if you need a paddling partner, or want to borrow a canoe, or want to know what you need for flotation….we will be glad to answer your questions.

For the biker alerts, send your name, town, and email address to Denise Courtemanche [email protected].

So…….sign up, be among the informed…….and you’ll hear all about it!
