Join us for a hike to where the last section of the 2,100+ mile Appalachian Trail was completed 75 years ago! On August 18, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts will gather in Carrabassett Valley, Maine to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the completion of the Appalachian trail. The day will feature group hikes to a plaque between Spaulding and Sugarloaf Mountains that marks the location of the completion of the trail. Hikers are invited to sign a special 75th Anniversary register and add their name to A.T. history. There will be an evening ceremony and BBQ to also mark the occasion. The original A.T. took more than 15 years to build and the last two-mile stretch was completed by a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) crew 75 years ago this coming August.
