AMC’s Newly Renovated Madison Spring Hut is Now Open

Madison Spring Hut re-opened on June 2 after major renovations that started last year. The $1 million rebuilding project preserved the 1929 core of the hut (the original hut was built in 1888!), including stone walls and foundation, but included upgrading of alternative energy systems. Wood was sourced locally and AMC’s Construction Crew performed the renovations. As you might guess, there were several challenges to such a major project that is 4 miles and several thousand vertical feet from the nearest road, not to mention the weather!
