Maine Wilderness Guides will offer a thorough hands-on training in a weekend workshop September 18-20. Workshops led by Registered Maine Guides include:
- Advanced canoe skills and safety
Traditional canoe poling
Trip planning and safety
Map and compass, GPS
Open-fire gourmet cooking and baking
Knot tying
Starting, building, and extinguishing fires
Low-impact camping
The Outdoor Skills workshop will be held along Cold Stream near West Gardiner from Friday, September 18 at 4PM until Sunday September 20 at noon. The cost of the workshop is $400, which includes all food, lab fees, and gear specific to each workshop. All non-guide participants will also receive a free one year “Friends of MWGO” membership.
