AMC Maine member Wendy Pollock spent two months in Africa where she trekked on the Serengeti, attempted Mt. Kilimanjaro, worked with porters, and volunteered in medical missions. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. It is home to rain forests, moorland, alpine desert, snow fields, and ice cliffs, all virtually on the equator! The Serengeti contains several national parks and game reserves, is home to approximately 70 larger mammal species, and hosts the largest mammal migration in the world.

She will share her experiences, her fabulous photos, and her observations on Wednesday, May 25th, 2011 in the Morrell Room of Curtis Memorial Library at 23 Pleasant Street in Brunswick, Maine. A potluck dinner begins at 6pm, followed by Wendy’s presentation at 7pm. Bring a potluck item to share and your own dinnerware (plate, utensils, etc.). Drinks will be available.

Free and open to the public, so invite a friend. For more information download a flyer or contact John Mullens
