New Maine Chapter Leaders Wanted!

Are you interested in becoming an activity leader for the AMC Maine Chapter? Volunteer

leaders are the heart of the AMC, offering activities and events to share their love of the

outdoors with others. Spring 2026 leadership training for is now open for enrollment!

Training starts with completion Outdoor Leader Fundamentals (OLF), a self-paced 6-8 hour

online course that covers the basic skills and expectations required of all AMC leaders. It can be

completed all at once or in stages.

Completion of OLF will be followed by a one-day in-person training on Saturday, April 25 at

Viles Arboretum in Augusta. This training will be scenario-based and include role-playing

activities to supplement skills learned in OLF. We’ll also review additional requirements for full-

leader certification, and assist aspiring leaders in creating a plan to get those requirements

completed.
