Proposed Amendment of Bylaws (adopted November 18, 2017)

Section 4.8 of the Maine Chapter’s bylaws currently provides that the Chapter Treasurer shall prepare a proposed budget of receipts and disbursements for the following fiscal year by December 31 of the year prior to the start of that fiscal year.

On January 20, 2025, the Club updated its Volunteer Finance Manual to require all chapter treasurers to submit to the Club by November 1 their Chapter’s proposed budget for the following fiscal year.  As a result of this change, the Chapter proposes to revise the second full sentence in Section 4.8 of its bylaws, which addresses the duties of the Chapter’s Treasurer, to read as follows:  “The Treasurer shall prepare a proposed budget of receipts and disbursements of funds for the year beginning January 1 in conjunction with the Executive Committee and Standing Committees.  Such budget, which shall be approved by the Executive Committee, shall be submitted to the Club by November 1 of the year prior to the start of the next fiscal year, or such earlier or later date as may be requested by the Club.”  In all other respects, Section 4.8 shall remain the same.
