On Thursday, October 13, Glen Koehler will present on global climate change. The main focus is to provide context for understanding the larger story behind the news stories about climate change by covering key concepts that explain why and how the climate is changing. The presentation briefly addresses some common myths, how human-driven climate change is different from natural climate variation, and why such rapid change matters to ecosystems, agriculture, and human prosperity. It concludes with some thoughts on meeting the challenges, opportunities, and responsibilities that are upon us. Glen came to this topic through his work on Integrated Pest Management in fruit orchards New England over 28 years and seeing the critical impact of weather on orchard management decisions. Presentation is at Bangor Public Library (145 Harlow Street) beginning at 6PM. For more information, please contact Nancy Jacobson or download a flyer.
