Maine Chapter to Host AMC Fall Gathering

I know it is only February, but we want you to know that this year the Maine Chapter will host AMC’s Fall Gathering from October 17-19, 2014! This annual event invites the entire AMC membership from all 12 chapters, from Washington DC to Maine, to join together to experience, enjoy, learn, and celebrate all that is AMC. The opportunity for the chapter to host this gathering comes only once every 12 years so we want to make the most of this opportunity to show off our beautiful state and its recreational opportunities for all to enjoy. The location is Camp Wavus for girls on Damariscotta Lake in Jefferson, Maine. The camp has miles of pristine waterfront, a gorgeous wooded campus, and new facilities including a 200-seat dining hall with state of the art kitchen, plus cabins accommodating small and larger groups. Activities from the Friday evening opening meal to Sunday’s closing will include hikes, bike rides, paddles, and visits to iconic Maine sites including waterfront vistas, lighthouses, and lobster shacks, all of which are intended to introduce out-of-state visitors to all that Maine has to offer.
