What’s this stuff I got in the mail from AMC about “bylaw changes?” Why are they asking me about bylaws? Because you are a member of AMC and you have a vote on such matters! So please be an active “citizen” of AMC and return that ballot with your vote by August 12, 2009. You can get more information on the details on the AMC web page.
The current bylaws were last changed in 1990 and this latest effort was to bring those bylaws into compliance with Massachusetts law and modernize them for the “information age” and best practices of nonprofit governance. This was a 2-year review process with input from the chapters. The AMC Board of Directors has approved the updated version, and now a vote by the full membership is required. So please cast your ballot by August 12, 2009!
